Doug Makuta

Doug Makuta is a singer (countertenor), songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist
(cello, piano, guitar, and more), and a member of the band MAKUTA. Doug grew up the
son of a career Marine father, and because of his father’s line of work, he has lived all
over the world. Based out of Brooklyn, New York, Doug and the band MAKUTA have
been featured on CBS, Billboard, NPR, and Yahoo!, and have received critical praise
from the likes of Perez Hilton. They were also featured headline performers at the
inaugural GRAMMY© Block Party, and have toured nationally with The Band Perry,
Keaton Simons, among many others. They have also written, produced, and
collaborated with numerous artists and producers of note, including Timbaland, Chad
Hugo (of N*E*R*D* + The Neptunes), John Oates (of Hall & Oates), Mike Viola, Ron
Carter, Scott Storch, Chris Lucas (LoCash), Ab-Liva, Francesca Battistelli, Peedi Crakk,
Bleu, Dave Bassett, and Aaron Henningsen (of The Henningsens), amongst many
others.
