Maurice Conaway (Velly)
Maurice "Velly" Conaway, is a versatile, songwriter, music producer, and composer from Baltimore, MD. Velly credits his musical upbringing as central to his development as a producer-songwriter. Velly shares an affinity for jazz, having studied improvisational jazz under Count Basie’s Frank Foster when he was in college. He cites milestones in his career thus far are playing his part in jam sessions with musical legends Slide Hampton, Kim Waters, and Victor Wooten. Velly has worked with such notable R&B/Hip Hop artist Busta Rhymes, Mya, Twista and Grammy Award winner Angelique Kidjo. He has worked on TV projects for the Lifetime and Oxygen network. Velly was nominated for a gospel Stellar Award for production on gospel artist Flame and scored the indie film "Incomplete.”
