TORONTO, ON (November 15, 2021) - Anthem Entertainment, one of the world’s leading independent music and entertainment content and services companies, today announced the promotion of Melissa Giddens to Senior Director, Business Development, Canada for the Anthem Production Music Group comprised of Jingle Punks, 5 Alarm Music and Cavendish Music catalogues. Additionally, Anthem Entertainment announced the promotion of Mhairi Palmer to Director, Label Royalties & Administration for Anthem Records.

Based in Toronto, Melissa has successfully grown Anthem’s Canadian business for Jingle Punks, pairing entertainment clients with creative solutions that exceed expectations. Reporting to JD Adams – Executive Vice President, Anthem Production Music Group and Brian Wahlund, Senior Vice President of Content, Anthem Production Music Group, Melissa will oversee the overall Canadian business development strategy, and continue to grow Jingle Punks’ Canadian revenue overall, while identifying opportunities to package the services of additional Anthem Entertainment verticals.

A graduate of the Advertising Program at Sheridan College, Melissa brings over two decades of entertainment industry experience to the Anthem Production Music Group. Having worked in a variety of roles within companies such as Brunico Communication Inc. and Realscreen Magazine, before joining Jingle Punks in 2015, she understands her clients’ needs, resulting in long-term, trusted relationships. From year to year, her business development efforts have brought high-profile entertainment clients the music and event solutions they needed.

Based in Toronto, Mhairi Palmer has been instrumental in taking Anthem Records to the next level. Using her industry knowledge, her collaborative and innovative skillset, along with her dedication to the team and the entire Anthem Entertainment roster, she is responsible for the curation and implementation of Anthem’s vanguard royalty software. Reporting to Allison Hamamura - General Manager, West Coast & Head of Label, Mhairi will continue to oversee Anthem Records’ Royalties & Administration team and continue to innovate and deliver exceptional service to Anthem’s clients.

With over 16 years of music industry experience managing global music rights and royalties, Mhairi has accumulated a vast wealth of knowledge in both publishing and recorded music. Starting her career with Re:Sound (Canada’s neighbouring rights collective), she moved through various roles in recorded music, including time at Sony Music Canada and True North Records, before joining the Anthem Entertainment team in 2013. A native of Scotland, Mhairi is a 2004 graduate of the University of Strathclyde where she received her B.A. in Applied Music and in 2019, completed a Certificate in Entertainment Law at Osgoode Hall Law School.
