Today Anthem Records released the first ever song collaboration between multi-Grammy winning, global music icons José Feliciano and Dolly Parton, titled “Eagle When She Flies”. The track was written by Dolly Parton and was released on the album of the same name in 1991. The single was produced by Rick Jarrard who has produced some of Feliciano’s biggest hits and was recorded remotely in Nashville. Gilles Godard and John Willis served as executive producers on the track. Feliciano, whose legendary career spans 60-plus years, is no stranger to the Country music world, having recorded many country songs and performed with some of the genre’s most critically acclaimed artists including Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Glenn Campbell among many others. His collaboration with Dolly Parton marks his latest contribution to the Country World.

“‘Eagle When She Flies’ became very personal when my producer, Rick Jarrard, brought it to me for our Nashville recording session for the Behind This Guitar album,” stated Feliciano. “After hearing it the very first time, I knew exactly what Dolly was saying, knowing certain women who are precisely what the song is about and so I needed to echo that, myself. I am blown away and so honored, really, that she offered to sing it with me. You know, Dolly, herself, is a magnificent Eagle”

“Eagle When She Flies,” releases on the heels of Feliciano’s recent 50-year anniversary celebration of his bilingual holiday classic, “Feliz Navidad”. The milestone occasion was marked with a global campaign that included the 2020 release of “Feliz Navidad 50th Anniversary (FN50)”, a reimagined re-recording of the original track featuring 30 international artists, as well as an extensive Amazon partnership that featured branded “Feliz Navidad” merchandise. In December 2020 Feliciano put on a global, Feliz Navidad 50th (FN50) Anniversary Livestream Concert.

Dolly Parton recently won an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Television Movie” for her holiday Netflix film Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square. Last month, Dolly announced that she co-authored the novel Run, Rose, Run alongside James Patterson, which is available for pre-order now and set to be released on March 7, 2022 along with an accompanying album of 12 original songs. She also recently launched a new fragrance line, Dolly-Scent from Above, which is available for purchase now.
