ole, one of the world’s largest independent music publishers, is continuing their yearly tradition by announcing their 2011 hitsource Series, featuring songcamp sessions in Sweden, London and Los Angeles.
Over the past few years, the ole songcamps have proven to be an effective generator of great copyrights, many of which have been placed with a variety of A-list artists. The camps, ranging from 5 – 7 days, are attended by top ole songwriters networking and collaborating with the goal of creating new hit material. Various label reps meet with the songwriters looking for material with specific artists in mind.
The exceptional numbers of copyrights generated at ole songcamp sessions have originated, in part, with an inspirational, artist-friendly environment. Their songcamps bring together world-class songwriters from Canada, the U.S., the U.K. and Europe. The creative environment allows these songwriters a chance to solely focus their energy towards creating enduring collaborative relationships across borders and genres while shaping the music trends of tomorrow. It also gives them the opportunity to network and engage in business discussions with key decision-makers in other media, from film and TV to record A&R, in an intimate setting.
With the amazing support from PROs ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and SOCAN, ole has enjoyed unprecedented creative success as a result of building community-based, international creative events and combining them with traditional song-plugging efforts.
With the goal of increased placement success, over their short history the camps have generated multiple song placements including "Cause A Scene" (Teairra Mari featuring Flo Rida), "Loving You Is Easy" (Meg Pfeiffer), "Superman" (Abraham McDonald) and four cuts on the Hanni und Nanni film soundtrack recorded by Shiloh, The Veronicas and The Black Sheep
Up first is the five-day Euro Songcamp in Sweden commencing on February 28th, 2011. Last year’s event held with co-presenter BMG Rights Management was incredibly productive. In only three days, the four ole writers in attendance, along with the ten BMG writers, created nine songs. Four of the songs were placed in the German film Hanni und Nanni, which was released last year in Germany.
In August, ole will again team up with U.K.-based independent music publisher, Bucks Music Group in London for a full five-day session. Both companies hope to exceed the success of last year’s event uniting 35 songwriters from around the world.
ole's fifth annual seven-day pop+urban songcamp will be held in Hollywood in September. Last year’s songcamp was co-presented by Bucks and Atlantic Records, has resulted in the delivery of close to 40 news songs by 15 world-class songwriters, producers and artists in attendance for the consideration of participating label, Atlantic Records.
ole’s mission is to bring together world-class Pop/Urban Music songwriters; to integrate songwriting talent into the U.S., UK and international markets through collaborations with top songwriters, major recording artists and music industry executives and to build an international infrastructure to channel Pop/Urban writers and their songs into foreign markets.
More information will be announced as available.
In the meantime, please save the dates and contact Connie McNaughton, ole Senior Director Brand Management to get involved immediately.
