TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 8, 2013) - ole celebrated CMA Week with BMI and SESAC awards for the radio and chart success of writers Ryan Tyndell and Monty Powell.
At the 61st annual BMI Country Awards, held at BMI's Nashville offices in the heart of Music Row, "Springsteen", co-written by ole songwriter Ryan Tyndell, was honored as one of the past year's most-performed country songs on U.S. radio and television.
It is the latest chapter in the remarkable story of "Springsteen", Eric Church's #1 platinum single and GRAMMY-nominated song. The #1 song of 2012 on the Mediabase year-end country chart and the American Country Awards' (ACA) Song of the Year had its beginnings as one of two songs co-written on the ole Bus by Ryan Tyndell during the ole "Write Where U R Tour" in 2011 as part of a writing session with Jeff Hyde and country star, Eric Church. "Springsteen" also earned its co-writers an award from the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) as one of "The 10 Songs I Wish I'd Written."
John Ozier, ole's GM, Nashville Creative, picked up a BMI Country Award for "Hard To Love" by Lee Brice, a song he co-wrote with Billy Montana and Ben Glover.
At SESAC's annual Nashville Music Awards presentations, held this year at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on November 3, ole legacy writer Monty Powell picked up a Country Performance Activity Award for the Keith Urban hit song "For You". The song, which was co-written with Urban for the soundtrack of the popular film Act of Valor, the Navy SEAL action thriller, and was included on Urban's album, The Story So Far, was nominated at the 70th Golden Globe Awards for Best Original Song.
At the 51st annual ASCAP Country Music Awards, held on November 4 in the Grand Ballroom of the newly-opened Music City Center in downtown Nashville, Roots Three/ole songwriter Jeff Coplan earned an award for co-writing Love and Theft's #1 hit, "Angel Eyes", one of country music's most performed songs of the period between April 2012 and March 2013.
