TORONTO, ON - ole, the world's fastest growing rights management company, announced today ole Nashville songwriters Adam Hambrick and Gavin Slate have their first number one hits on both sides of the border. Dan + Shay's single "How Not To" (Warner Bros. / W.A.R.) co-written by Adam Hambrick, Kevin Bard and Paul DiGiovanni topped both the US Billboard Country Airplay and US Mediabase Country charts this week. James Barker Band's single "Chills" (Universal Music Canada) co-written by Gavin Slate, Travis Wood, James Barker and Donovan Woods, also hit number one on the Mediabase Canadian Country chart.
"To see two ole writers celebrate their first number 1's in the same week, in two different countries, is extraordinary," said John Ozier, VP Creative, ole. "This truly shows the cross-border capabilities of ole in the country market. It also further accents the continued growth of the Nashville office of ole."
In May of 2011, Adam Hambrick received an introduction email from ole songwriter Jeremy Stover. This opened a series of doors that led Adam to a publishing deal, a duet cut on Justin Moore's album w/ Miranda Lambert ("Old Habits"), and a move to Nashville in 2013 to turn his full focus toward his music. That focus is lending itself to exciting new opportunities and a bright future as a writer and artist. Hambrick currently has singles on the chart by Justin Moore, Jacob Davis and Lindsay Ell.
Toronto native, Gavin Slate has co-written six top tens at Canadian radio including the Gold Certified single, "Here Comes the Thunder," for Tim Hicks which was also featured as the intro song for the 2016 NHL All-Star Game. In addition to this, Slate co-wrote and co-produced the debut single for the James Barker Band, "Lawn Chair Lazy," that broke Shania Twain's record for highest radio debut by a new artist.
