The 28th annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards proved to be a very special evening.

Held on June 25th at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles, this star-studded event honored the songwriters and publishers of the most performed ASCAP songs on the 2014 R&B, hip-hop, rap and gospel charts. Many icons were honored that night, with three ole writers being recognized for their outstanding musical contributions.

The prestigious “Songwriter of the Year” award was presented to ole writer Timbaland. The honor was part of a huge year for this super-producer, who saw four of his songs take home ASCAP Rhythm & Soul awards. They included Beyoncé’s smashes “Drunk In Love” and “Partition”; as well as Jay Z featuring Beyoncé’s “Part II (On The Run),” and Jay Z’s “Tom Ford,” both co-written by Timbaland and ole-bluestone’s Garland “Sebastian” Mosley.

ole writer David Bratton took home an ASCAP Rhythm & Soul honor for “Every Praise,” performed by the great gospel artist Hezekiah Walker.

ole congratulates Timbaland on his ASCAP Rhythm & Soul ‘Songwriter of the Year’ honor,” says Robert Ott, oleChairman and CEO. “ole is very proud to work with and support Timbaland as he continues to shape the music of our a generation.”
