TORONTO: ole and its music-publishing co-venture tanjola are pleased to announce the signing of multi-million selling songwriter, producer and remixer Alex Greggs to a worldwide co-publishing deal.

In addition to co-publishing the new music he creates under the terms of the agreement, ole tanjola will inherit 350 songs from the Alex Greggs catalogue to add to ole’s 40,000 song library, including numbers from the chart-topping ‘NSYNC albums No Strings Attached and Celebrity, which combined to sell more than 20 million copies in North America alone.

The Los Angeles-based Greggs’ writing credits also include Brandy, Ricky Martin, Love Inc., JC Chasez, Paris Hilton, former American Idol finalist Blake Lewis and rising Canadian superstar Keshia Chanté.

More recently Greggs – who launched his career writing for the 1992 MTV series Catwalk -- has collaborated with L.A.-based tunesmith Beau Dozier (Beyoncé, Pussycat Dolls, Snoop Dogg) and hip-hop duo The Runners (Lil Wayne, Mariah Carey, Ludacris).

A principal member of the influential reggae/dancehall production entity South Rakkas Crew with Dennis “Dow Jones” Shaw, Greggs has stamped his influence on recordings and remixes by some of pop music’s hottest icons: Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Shakira, Janet Jackson, T-Pain, M.I.A., Chris Brown, Beck, Lilly Allen, Fall Out Boy, Duran Duran and Jessica Simpson among them.

South Rakkas Crew is currently working on a new album scheduled for a 2009 release on Mad Decent Records, and have placed “Mad Again” on the recently released Rockstar Games video game Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

Greggs – also a principal in the earlier production team of Riprock ‘n’ Alex G. -- is also working on the new Tricky album and has upcoming writing appointments with Lily Allen, M.I.A. and others.

He is also reworking “The Newlywed Game Theme” for the Game Show Network, which recently announced a revival of The Newlywed Game hosted by Carnie Wilson.

In welcoming Greggs to the ole tanjola roster, tanjola Managing Partner Ivan Berry declared:

“I have known Alex Greggs, both personally and professionally, for over 15 years now. He is one of the most diverse producers, songwriters and remixers I have ever witnessed.

“Alex has proven that he can provide huge pop hits – and in that same day – turn around and produce some of the coolest underground material.

“It is an absolute pleasure for Daniel Mekinda and I to have Alex as part of the ole tanjola roster. He brings major value to our brand, and together we’ll make awesome music for a vast variety of global superstars.”

In response, Alex Greggs said he was thrilled to be the newest addition to the ole tanjola family.

“I’m really excited about joining ole/tanjola,” said Greggs.

ole is such a new and hungry company, but they also have huge backing behind them and work with people that I have a good relationship with.

“They also understand the new parameters of the music industry and are actively pursuing such outlets as film and TV synchronization, video game and multimedia opportunities, which will translate into new homes for my music. It’s really attractive to me.”

Added Robert Ott, ole Chairman & CEO, “Alex Greggs is a proven hit-maker and ole is very pleased to welcome him to the roster and team.

“One thing that hasn't changed in our business is that truly great songs and production still touch people and succeed. This is something that Alex understands innately and that we're well aligned on."

Greggs joins a stellar tanjola co-venture roster that includes Fontana/Universal recording artist Dru; Juno-Award-winner Rupert Gayle; jackSoul front man Haydain Neale; Alonzo and recent Universal Music/Universal Republic signing Shiloh.
