TORONTO, ON (September 9, 2016) – ole, the world’s fastest growing independent rights management company, has announced several major developments for its successful red dot artist development program. red dot brings together ole’s broad infrastructure in support of talented developing artists, providing instant exposure and opportunities in a business where the development process often takes years.
The CCMA- and Juno-award winning country artist George Canyon’s first single for red dot, “I Got This,” has performed extremely well, reaching the Top 10 in Canadian MediaBase chart. The track is off of Canyon’s #1 best-selling country album, I Got This, released in February, 2016.
red dot initiatives have already led to major-label deals for ole songwriters Josh Dorr, Jordan Davis, and Charlie Worsham. 2016 will see the release of new albums by red dot artists Josh Thompson and Sam Grow.
Haley Reinhart, the acclaimed singer-songwriter who first captured national attention with her top-three finish on the 10th season of American Idol, released her sophomore album Better on red dot in April, 2016. That follows a warm reception of her late-2015 rendition of “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” which sold over 255,000 units and tallied over 19 million Spotify streams.
The 2015 CCMA Country Music Week saw ole’s inaugural on the spot competition make good on its mission of discovering bright new talent. Singer-songwriter Katia Zuccarelli won a deal with red dot that includes music publishing, EP recording production, YouTube audio-visual management, and support from ole's world-class creative staff.
“red dot was founded specifically to break and sustain emerging artists, and we’re gratified to see that vision spring to life with measurable success for the red dotroster,” says John Ozier, Vice President, Creative of ole. “We’re glad to be growing the red dot family, and further broadening the horizons of gifted artists in the U.S. and Canada.”
